About James Dobie Thrillers
My parents taught me early that books opened one's mind to other worlds, and I've always loved to read. I was soon drawn to edgy suspense and thriller authors like Harlan Coben, Karin Slaughter, and Stephen King. I have always liked to write, starting with song lyrics I wrote and performed as a musician. But when I began to compose novels, thrillers were where my heart and mind went.
While I began writing novels somewhat late in life, in the past five years, I've created eight fast-paced, pulse-pounding Wallowa Lake Thrillers, each stand-alone but featuring some recurring characters. Following those, I wrote six individual psychological/paranormal suspense novels; and I'm working on another one now. Often, my protagonists are feisty females. To relax from writing, I play rock guitar.
Editing, covers, and promotional costs keep book releases to a minimum--only four eBooks self-published thus far. Most current is The Fret Master, published in March 2025. Earlier releases included Angel of Oregon, published last summer, The Wood Sprite, in 2023, and the first book, The Wailing, the previous year. All four are now available as eBooks and in PDP paperback through IngramSpark, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. I hope to continue publishing new thrillers once or twice a year.
